A new feature has been added in the recently-released Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 update, finally giving NPCs umbrellas when it's raining in Night City. On February 15, 2022, CD Projekt Red hosted a livestream where the developer talked about the new update, which released on the same day. The latest Cyberpunk 2077 update patch added a lot of new features and fixed some long-lasting issues that the game has been struggling with since its initial release in December 2020. Some of the most important changes in patch 1.5 included improvements to AI and NPCs, as well as optimizing the last-gen game for the latest console generation.
Perhaps the most notable improvement added in the Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 update is crowd behavior. Crowd improvements include aggressive crowd behavior, so that some NPC archetypes can enter combat with the player. AI-controlled characters can now fight the player, even pulling out weapons, aiming, and shooting at them. This specific change was not implemented on the older generation of consoles. Other improvements include more realistic crowd reactions, pathfinding, and despawning. All NPCs now should feel less like AI and more like real-life people, with clear graphical improvements to Cyberpunk 2077's characters.
