Cyberpunk 2077 has finally been brought to next-gen consoles, as CD Projekt Red released its long-awaited PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrade this past week. Alongside the next-gen upgrade, CD Projekt Red also delivered Cyberpunk 2077's 1.5 update. The update upgraded a number of Cyberpunk 2077's most heavily criticized systems, focusing on AI and combat. It seems that CD Projekt Red was also working on another feature that didn't make it into patch 1.5 – transmogs.
Before anyone leaps to a fair, but unfortunately incorrect assumption, CD Projekt Red does not appear to be working on an MMO-style system of swapping in and out cosmetic outfits. As exciting as that would be, that's not something CD Projekt Red has implemented to any degree yet. However, there does appear to be some interesting functionality for altering cosmetics in Cyberpunk 2077's patch 1.5 and a hint at something more.

A modder named djkovrik discovered a feature in Cyberpunk 2077's recent update that is referred to as a «transmog» system within the game's files. Cyberpunk 2077 players can even enable it from the game's console with the command Game.EnableTransmog(). It enables a very basic and common RPG feature, which is the ability to hide whatever the player is wearing on their face and head. Djkovrik also created a mod that alters this functionality named Hide Your Gear that allows players to hide any piece of gear they're wearing, whether it's pants, shoes, shirt, or jacket.
What has Cyberpunk 2077 fans talking isn't the actual functionality of the feature, however. As nice as it is to hide a character's hat and glasses without altering their stats, players want more.
