While we're all waiting for Cyberpunk 2077's comeback with a new current-gen update, modders have already reworked the title's police system to add car chases and fully-fledged vehicle combat.
The lack of car chases in Cyberpunk 2077's Night City has always been a hot topic among fans. Developer CD Projekt Red repeatedly explained why we never got these, pointing out that not every open-world game has car chases, like the upcoming Elden Ring - a dark fantasy, medieval-styled RPG. Gamers still hope that CD Projekt Red will overhaul the police system in future updates and DLC, but enthusiasts already have PC players covered thanks to this new mod.

Creator Scissors titled it 'Vehicle Combat' on the Nexus website, presenting new exciting features for Cyberpunk players, like the ability to use weapons while driving. What's more important is that this fan project reworks the police system significantly to create frequent vehicle chases with shootouts all across Night City. According to the author, there was already some required functionality in the game's code, but many of it was disabled. With the mod, players can now equip and use all ranged and melee weapons (except for grenades and projectile launchers) while driving any vehicle. Various vehicles also have different durability levels for a more realistic experience.
