Developer CD Projekt Red seems to have finally started to make decent progress with regards to making Cyberpunk 2077 the game it was meant to be. Cyberpunk 2077 players have mostly been happy with both the latest update to the game and its next-gen upgrade, however, players upgrading from PS4 to PS5 have noted what could be quite a serious issue for some gamers.
CD Projekt Red recently noted on its website that trophies earned on the PS5 when playing the PS4 version of the game via backwards compatibility will not transfer to the PS5 version of the game. This means that players will have to earn these trophies all over again, which can be exceptionally disheartening especially if a trophy took a lot of effort to earn. CD Projekt Red has stated that this is owing to the fact that the PS5 version of the game has a different Stock Keeping Unit (SKU), and therefore trophies will not be able to be transferred.

The strangest thing about the situation is the fact that Cyberpunk 2077's latest update allows players to transfer their saves, but unfortunately, not their trophies. Other changes that the update brings to the table are that PC players can now enable Variable Rate Shading (VRS), allowing players to boost the rendering performance and visual quality of the game, players can now customize V's starting apartment as well as their appearance, and some actions performed inside the apartments can now apply temporary buffs.
