Prime Video has officially announced the release date for the upcoming crime drama series, based on James Patterson’s bestselling Alex Cross novels. The adaptation is being led by One Night in Miami… star Aldis Hodge in his first major TV project as the solo lead, after previously appearing in shows like Girlfriends, Leverage, and City on a Hill.
All eight episodes of Cross will be available for streaming, starting on November 14, exclusively on Prime Video. The series is written and executive produced by showrunner Ben Watkins. Joining Hodge are Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold. Meanwhile, Wes Chatham, Matthew Lillard and Jeanine Mason are expected to appear in Season 2.
“Cross is a twisted thriller about Alex Cross, a detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify — and ultimately capture — the murderers,” reads the logline.
The series is executive produced by Patterson, Jim Dunn, Sam Ernst, Craig Siebels, Bill Robinson, Patrick Santa, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell, with Dunn and Sam Ernst expect to serve as co-showrunners in the next installment. It is a production by Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television Studios, and Skydance Television.
