Cozy co-op game Farm Together is getting a sequel after almost six years. The new farming sim is planned to reach Steam Early Access in spring 2024.
While Farm Together is often compared to Stardew Valley for its cozy atmosphere and setting, the two are about as different as games about farming can be; whereas Stardew Valley dabbles in everything from dungeon crawling to questing, Farm Together offers a much more streamlined experience that largely revolves around owning, maintaining, and upgrading a farm. It mixes things up with a fairly comprehensive decoration system similar to that of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it's ultimately a farming game first and foremost. Its overall gameplay proposition has impressed many a player, as reflected in the fact that Farm Together presently boasts over 16,800 «Very Positive» Steam reviews.
Five and half years following its release, this popular farming sim is now on the verge of getting a sequel. Simply called Farm Together 2, the game is currently targeting an early access release in Q2 2024. Developer Milkstone Studios said this preview period will likely run for between six months and a year, citing its past projects as the basis for that estimate. The Farm Together 2 Steam page is already live, allowing prospective buyers to wishlist the game ahead of its early access debut.
While the farming sim's price is yet to be announced, Milkstone Studios has already confirmed that the preview version of the game will be more affordable than the finished product, much like its past titles were. Early access backers will also have some yet-to-be-specified bonuses to look forward to. True to its name, the Farm Together sequel will offer both single-player and online co-op modes.
