Despite only releasing a few days ago, cooperative multiplayer horror game Content Warning has a new update. The development team at Landfall added several new Content Warning features that players will find useful as they attempt to record spooky occurrences as a team.
Released on April 1, 2024, Content Warning originally came across to some as an April Fools' joke, but was quickly accepted as a substantial game in its own right, attracting over six million players by being free to download and play for the first 24 hours of its release window. The game casts teams of up to four players as a group of videographers from a far-future civilization visiting the abandoned buildings and ruins of human society, now known as the «Old World.» Dressed in protective suits with limited oxygen and fun Content Warning ASCII faces, players need to work together to film as many scary things as possible and upload it to the futuristic video service SpookTube for profit.
Landfall's new update for Content Warning brings with it a few bug fixes related to issues uncovered by players in the launch window. It also adds a handful of inventive new items. Detailed in a Content Warning Steam page update and promoted via Landfall's official Twitter account, the update adds four new tools to the growing selection of Content Warning items: The Reporter Mic, the Sound Player, the Party Popper, and a projector located in the garden area.
The Content Warning Reporter Mics are props allowing players to record news-style framing for in-game recordings, while the Sound Player can play prerecorded sound effects, like applause. The Party Poppers add some festive cheer to videos, as well, and the garden projector can be used to set up backdrops. Meanwhile, Landfall also acknowledged ongoing issues with Content Warning voice chat, and said that the team is working on fixes.
