The highly anticipated Diablo Immortal released a day ahead of its targeted date for mobile devices. Despite the relative stigma this game initially faced due to its jump to mobile platforms, hype surrounding the title has been building over the years.
As a core part of the gameplay in Diablo Immortal, players will be able to choose from a range of diverse characters with differing combat capabilities and skill sets. One of these character classes is called the Crusader, which offers an integral role to both individual and team-based combat in Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal’s PC Release Is a Good Sign for Warcraft Mobile
Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play action-RPG designed primarily for mobile devices. However, Immortal does feature a PC build, with crossplay between the two platforms. The game was initially announced at E3 2018, where veteran fans of the Diablo franchise were vocal in their disappointment. Despite this initial frustration, millions of players signed up for the game pre-release.
The Diablo franchise started back in 1996. While the Diablo games have always been known as dungeon-crawler RPGs, none are quite as multiplayer-focused as Immortal, which seems to be much faster paced and arcade-like than typical titles in the franchise. It also contains loot box features that have precluded Diablo Immortal from releasing in certain regions.
Diablo Immortal boasts six playable characters at launch. The Crusader plays as an archetypal tank class with the ability to deal huge amounts of damage via area-of-effect (AoE) attacks, all while possessing a large health pool. Being a melee-oriented class with a ridable mount, the Crusader has an additional edge over others in that it has the fastest movement.
