Supercell has dropped that their board game-inspired title is calling it quits on development. Yes, Clash Mini is shutting down by late April 2024. Sadly, the game is meeting its untimely end, all before even hitting the global stage. Follow along to learn more about the shutdown!
Everyone’s been wondering what led to the Clash Mini shutdown. Well, turns out Supercell, the publishers, felt that the game didn’t hit the mark they were aiming for. Sure, it was decent enough but it couldn’t replicate the success of the other titles in the series, like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale.
Although Clash Mini dished out a fresh spin to the series with its board game vibes, it failed to attract everyone. In contrast to the 35.21 million downloads for Clash Royale, Clash Mini only saw 700 thousand downloads across mobile platforms in 2023.
If you’ve got any Clash Mini in-game purchases, don’t worry. You can transfer those to any active Supercell game before they pull the plug. The Clash Mini shutdown adds to the not-so-short list of discontinued Supercell games, including Rush Wars and Everdale.
Even after pushing out updates and getting the community on board, Clash Mini didn’t meet the publishers’ expectations. But rumour has it that Supercell is planning to bring the Clash Mini experience into Clash Royale. Not exactly sure what that means, so let’s just wait and see how they merge the two games’ features.
If you haven’t played the game yet, grab it from the Google Play Store. I suggest you give it a try before the Clash Mini shutdown. I’m pretty sure you’ll love the head-to-head real-time strategy with the tiny versions of the classic Clash Universe characters.
