Before Gamescom opens up to the general public later this month, Gamescom Opening Night Live is scheduled for August 20th, 11 AM PT. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, it will feature new announcements and world premieres, like Summer Game Fest (but hopefully better). Among these is Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 from Firaxis Games.
Its gameplay premiere will debut during Opening Night Live, but that’s not all. An over 20-minute deep dive premieres at 1:30 PM PT on the same day on Firaxis Games’ Twitch channel. It will contain “exclusive insights from the development team” while outlining its “innovative new features.”
Of course, that’s not all, as Civilization 7 will be playable for Gamescom attendees from August 21st to 25 at the game’s booth. Those attending PAX West from August 30th to September 2nd can also get their hands on it. A developer panel hosted by Kinda Funny Games’ Greg Miller will also take place on August 31st, featuring “new insights and behind-the-scenes anecdotes” from the game’s development.
Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 launches in 2025 for PC. Stay tuned for more details when Gamescom rolls around.
