Independent MMORPG Cinderstone Online is now officially in Early Access, followinga free stress test weekend to help the team iron out any major issues and test server stability.
Cinderstone Online is a colorful, stylized MMO, with deep systems, a dynamic economy, and customization that goes beyond its stylized surface design. Early Access was supposed to begin back on Monday, but the process of getting things good to go on Steam hit a snag. While the devs had passed review for their playtest build, and they had just held a playtest event, but they had to delay a bit after Steam didn't read the game as supporting online play. As an MMORPG.
Clearly, the Codevision team was able to resolve the issue with Valve and the game is now officially open for Early Access play. With the opening of Early Access, the team is making sure to emphasize that the game is still actively in development, and that some features may not completely function and there's still a lot of work to be done. However, much of it is playable and if you are interested in something different, you'll be able to help the developers with feedback and Bug reports to help them get to the 1.0 launch.
One of the other things the team emphasized is that they promised transparency in the development process, especially since early access means that you've invested some money and time. However, they're also clear that before they launch into version 1.0, there will be a full server wipe. This will be done so that everyone can start from an even playing field when the game officially launches.
