Bale's villain specifically targets gods after he suffers a personal tragedy he blames them for. Marvel Studios has been careful with revealing any specific detail about Thor: Love and Thunder's main villain, but the fact that he is played by Bale is more than enough to excite fans, knowing the actor's dedication to his craft and acting prowess. That being said, there was apparently a time when he almost turned down joining the MCU due to a scheduling conflict.

The actor reveals he was interested primarily because of the people he would be working with, and Waititi's pitch was really solid.
