Bandai Namco has begun sending out playtest invites to select lucky fans who signed up for access to offering the first full look into the game. Since its announcement last year, players have been eagerly awaiting the standalone co-op experience in this beloved franchise. Allowing for friends to team up and experience the game together, is one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
Select players have now started getting access to invites for if they signed up to get access to the closed beta, so if you signed up, it's worth checking your emails (and Spam folder). With codes sent across Xbox and PlayStation, the Network Test codes grant access to play sessions set to run between February 14 to 16 for a short but sweet period. With upcoming playtest, players will be able to experience a small slice of gameplay ahead of the game's full release. This isn't the first time that Bandai and FromSoft have offered a playtest, having previously offered the same early access for select players for itself.
The Elden Ring Nightreign network tests will start soon, but PC players are unsure if they’ll be able to participate in this first look at the game.
While there aren't too many details about what this playtest will offer, it has been confirmed that players won't be given access to character creation, and instead will choose from one of eight pre-built characters. Outside of that, those selected for the test can expect limitations on the full experience, with the venture being more of a stress test for servers, and to gauge player reception and feedback before release.
Despite the excitement for the upcoming playtests, there are unfortunately some negatives to come along with it. As some players look to sell their playtest codes for up to $500 USD on eBay, there's already an incredibly over-priced way to gain access to the game early if players missed out on their own codes.
