Despite 's differences from its predecessor as a dedicated co-op game, the spin-off is still highly anticipated as something of a follow-up to what is among the greatest games of all time. Many longtime FromSoftware fans and newer aficionados alike will be eager to get on release day, and possibly even purchase one of its special editions. 's price point will contribute to the allure of said special editions as well, which offer both in-game incentives and physical collectibles.
FromSoftware's typically intriguing character design helps some of its games' figures become rather iconic, as is the case with Malenia as 's de facto mascot. Malenia became the focal point of 's special editions content, and appears to be following a similar tactic, banking on the visual appeal of one of its main characters, the Nightfarers. Prospective purchasers will have three different versions of to consider, and each have some odd caveats to consider in addition to their prices.
There are three different editions of available for purchase: the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector's Edition, coming in at drastically different price points. The Standard Edition is a run-of-the-mill game purchase, entitling buyers to no extra content, but is reasonably priced at $39.99. One important and odd wrinkle, though, is that the Standard and Collector's Editions of will only have physical copies available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Standard Edition can still be purchased for PS4 and Xbox One (and PC), but only digitally.
