As previously reported, Borderlands 4 has made an appearance at The Game Awards 2024 with a brand new trailer which features in game action as well as a cut scene from “about half way between the end of Borderlands 3 and the beginning of Borderlands 4”.
That was the description from Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford on X/Twitter but that is a little confusing, Borderlands 3 is a game, Borderlands 4 is a game.. are the also making a game that sites between the two, thus the scene can come “about half way between the end of Borderlands 3 and the beginning of Borderlands 4”.
He took to the stage to introduce the game and decided that rather than talk he would show the trailer, and here it is:
We get a look at loads of new characters, lots of guns and plenty of new enemies to kill. The game will be released next year in 2025.

Borderlands 3 was a big success for the studio in 2019, followed up a few years later with the well received spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, but the company itself has gone through some turbulent times. It was acquired by Embracer in 2021, who decided to balloon it in size by adding
