CD Projekt reboots Project Sirius, writes off $10m in costs
pcgamesinsider.bizPolish games firm CD Projekt has written off over PLN 42.9 million ($9.8 million) in development costs for its upcoming Project Sirius.
That's according to an investor release – spotted by Tech Power Up – in which the company said that it was writing off PLN 33.4 million ($7.68 million ) for the 2022 financial year, in addition to another PLN 9.5 million ($2.2 million) for January and February 2023.
This is in relation to CD Projekt's upcoming Project Sirius, which is being created by The Molasses Flood.
CD Projekt says that it wrote off the costs after reviewing the "scope and commercial potential" of the initial version of Project Sirius. Apparently, the studio is now looking at how to proceed with this project.
Project Sirius is one of several new entries in The Witcher franchise that were announced in October 2022.
The Molasses Flood was acquired by CD Projekt back in 2021.
