Typically shown as simply a cat burglar, Catwoman was given an incredible new origin in a young adult graphic novel from DC Comics. Catwoman: Soulstealer (The Graphic Novel) adapts the young adult novel of the same name, which was written by Sarah J. Maas. Within this story, she becomes part of a group known as the Leopards—a subdivision of the League of Assassins.
In many comics, Selina Kyle has connections to the underworld before becoming one of Gotham's top villains. Sometimes she is a mob boss's daughter and she has also been involved in prostitution in some of her origins. Now, a new origin places Catwoman within the ranks of one of Batman's greatest villain groups: the League of Assassins. She was directly recruited by Ra's al Ghul's own heir, Talia, after being arrested as a young girl trying to get money to take care of her sister Maggie's medical needs.

Catwoman: Soulstealer has the creative team of Sarah J. Maas, Louise Simonson, and Samantha Dodge. The story predominantly focuses on the titular heroine's return to Gotham after leaving to join the League of Assassins. Throughout the graphic novel, she faces Batwing while Batman is away, allies herself with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, and proves that she's fiercer than she has ever been before.
Given Catwoman's newly acquired skills, it seems possible that this version of Selina Kyle could overcome her own alternate selves—particularly if she has a little more time to rule Gotham's streets. Her usual abilities are already rather impressive, but being trained by the League of Assassins makes Catwoman far deadlier than she's been before.
