Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel is one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Universe, but even she isn’t without her ultimate weakness. But unlike Superman and his well-known Kryptonite debility, the greatest threat to Captain Marvel is the best-kept secret in Marvel Comics.
In Rocket Raccoon and Groot #10 by Nick Kocher and Michael Walsh, Rocket, Groot, and Gwenpool have been called to action by Captain Marvel to capture an intergalactic fugitive named Chammy who was hiding out on Earth. The reason Captain Marvel knew about this alien crook was through the precognition of her Inhuman ally Ulysses as this storyline takes place right in the middle of the Civil War II crossover event. When Rocket’s team finally catches up with Chammy, he tells them that he was only on Earth not to pose a threat to Captain Marvel, but in an attempt to save her.

Chammy reveals that his home world was taken over by an evil tyrant and that Captain Marvel saved the planet by eliminating the genocidal maniac. Unfortunately, after Carol left the planet, a new tyrant rose up and he proved to be much worse than the original. In his wake, a criminal syndicate was formed and Chammy joined them as there weren’t many other options in terms of maintaining his own survival. One day, Chammy and his criminal co-workers were selling information to an alien named Reeve, but at the last second, Chammy sabotaged the deal and destroyed the information. However, Reeve was still able to get his hands on what he was after, and developed a secret weapon that could only be used specifically on Captain Marvel, a weapon that proved to be her Kryptonite.
