Comic book creator Sana Amanat has recently explained why she is so certain that Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani is the absolute perfect match to portray the beloved character, Kamala Khan. Amanat is the Director of Content and Character Development at Marvel Entertainment, where it’s her duty to deliver superheroes that she fully believes audiences will resonate with deeply.
She first brought the character of Kamala/Khan/Ms. Marvel to the comics with the assistance of editor Stephen Wacker and screenwriter G. Willow Wilson, alongside artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie. Kamala made her first introduction to fans when she appeared in 2013’s Captain Marvel No. 14. From there, Kamala would become so popular that she eventually landed the lead role in her own comic book series, under her famous superhero alter ego.
