Warning! Spoilers ahead for Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #2
In the latest issue of Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #2, Steve Rogers' oldest allies are keeping a major secret from him. While the First Avenger has been investigating the true legacy and history behind his iconic shield, Bucky Barnes' Winter Soldier secretly knows more about the new conspiracy that's come to light than he's letting on. Having gone MIA in this new issue, Bucky is now joining forces with another major Cap ally (who's also been hiding the truth from Rogers).
In previous issues of Sentinel of Liberty from Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Carmen Carnero, Nolan Woodard, and VC's Joe Caramagna, Captain America was told that his shield/symbol doesn't belong to him. Instead, it belongs to a new shadow organization that's been using his shield as a gameboard to move their pawns across the globe in secret. Additionally, it seems as though Bucky has known about this «Century Game» since the Winter Soldier's recent battle with the Kingpin during Devil's Reign. However, he's chosen to not clue in Steve for some reason.

Heading directly for the corrupt and degenerate city that is Madripoor the Winter Soldier knows exactly who he needs to talk to, finding none other than Peggy Carter who's apparently involved in the Century Game as well. According to Bucky, Peggy is one of five agents who's been working in the shadows, fighting a war that's as old as both of them and Captain America himself.
