After being dead in the comics for more than a decade, Jack of Hearts made his surprise return in the current She-Hulk series from Marvel Comics, where the radioactive hero was kept alive by a mysterious force for unknown reasons. Helping him find his new normal is Jennifer Walters. She has developed a friendship with Jack while trying to figure out how he has returned from the dead after he was previously killed in an explosion at Avengers Mansion that killed Scott Lang. However, the longer she keeps the secret of Jack's return, the more likely the Avengers will turn on She-Hulk.

She-Hulk struggles with telling Jack about what really happened when he died at Avengers Mansion, where he exploded and killed Scott Lang. She realizes she will need to tell him eventually about why he's best known for something that happened after his death. Ultimately, the secret eats at She-Hulk as she can't decide how to tell him the truth.
