A new Lightyear trailer arrives giving a better look at Chris Evans' incarnation of Buzz as he tries to save Star Command from Emperor Zurg. Chris Evans is taking over the mantle of the titular Space Ranger from Tim Allen, with the film serving as both a spinoff and prequel of Pixar's Toy Story franchise. Lightyear hails from franchise vet Angus MacLane in his solo feature directorial debut and a script he co-wrote with Onward co-writer Jason Headley.
Lightyear finds Buzz and various members of Star Command initially marooned on an alien planet with no hyperspace fuel and, in an attempt to recreate it and get back home, accidentally results in the titular hero traveling through time. As he watches his friends and family around him grow old while he stays the same age, Buzz races against time in the hopes of getting everyone back to Earth with the help of his robot emotional animal companion Sox. Buzz will find his efforts further complicated when he is introduced to a group of inexperienced rookies, led by his best friend's granddaughter Izzy, who are trying to take down the evil Emperor Zurg.
