A Twitch streamer and friends have shown off the beta for a new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild multiplayer mod, and it was as fun as it sounds. Like many great games, Breath of the Wild has the pleasure of having a fantastic modding community that shares new ways to experience the game with its player base. The dedication of the modding community has led some to believe that a hypothetical PC release of Breath of the Wild 2 would better perform than the Switch release based on mods alone.
Modding communities have become almost essential to video games in the modern age. With a passionate modding community, a game’s replayability can span far beyond its intended life cycle as modders continuously inject new content for players to experience. Breath of the Wild fortunately possesses just such a community that has developed several mods for the game since its launch in 2017, including the massive fan overhaul mod Second Wind.

As reported by DualShockers, popular Twitch streamer PointCrow and fellow streamers DougDougW, Linkus7, and Samwitch gathered for a six-hour stream to beta test a Breath of the Wild multiplayer mod made by modders Alex Mangue, Sweet, and Ethi. This ambitious mod originated from PointCrow offering a $10,000 bounty for a BOTW multiplayer mod, a challenge the three modders were happy to accept. The stream features PointCrow and co. exploring the lands of Hyrule together in a four-player party, with each Link sporting a unique color.
