WhenWo Long: Fallen Dynasty was revealed at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, many instantly compared it to the likes of Nioh and Bloodborne. The former comparisons were made because of the shared developer Team Ninja, and the latter because of the general themes seen in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty's reveal trailer. It remains to be seen how it lives up to this legacy, but given both former Bloodborne and Nioh developers are working on it, that's a promising start.
Since the showcase, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Team Ninja have been rather quiet. Some of these features are brand new reveals, including a character creator, a morale system, a game trial, and the inclusion of sorcery (at least this seems to imply players will be able to use sorceries in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty). Other mentions include weapons based on Chinese martial arts, the appearance of famous warlords from China's Three Kingdoms era, and creatures from Chinese Mythology. Given that Wo Long is billed as following a militia soldier who is fighting for their survival during a demon plague set in the Three Kingdoms, where players must «overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within,» all of this fits the bill perfectly.
Perhaps the most interesting confirmation is the gameplay trial in the near future, especially since gameplay for Wo Long has yet to been fully shown. It's a bold statement of Team Ninja's confidence in the game
