A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player has allied themselves with cuccos to defeat a Hinox, and it's perfect. Cuccos are well-known by Legend of Zelda fans as the chickens that swarm the player with deadly force if they are ever cruel enough to attack one. Whether it was put into the series as a joke or a lesson against animal cruelty, it's been a beloved reoccurring game mechanic of Zelda for many years.
The Hinox are large and deadly cyclops monsters that have been present in the Legend of Zelda series since A Link to the Past in 1991, and They made a return in Breath of the Wild as one of the largest enemies Link can encounter within the fields of Hyrule. They are always sleeping before Link approaches them, and they wear necklaces adorned with weapons that Link can take as a prize after defeating them. Conquering a Hinox in BOTW leaves an impressive pile of treasure, but every battle with one is treated like a sub-boss fight complete with a large health bar, so it's not a simple task.

Normally BOTW's Hinoxes are weak to bomb attacks and arrows to the eye, but Reddit user JinMQ found a new way to defeat one by harnessing the power of Zelda's famous cuccos. When cuccos attack they are relentless, as they will not let up until Link either runs away from the area or dies. However, JinMQ found a way to use this as an advantage. By holding a cucco above Link's head, it was in the perfect position for the Hinox to attack it. Then the attacked cucco called upon a swarm of other cuccos to fly in and quickly wipe out the rest of the Hinox's health. They made quick work of the giant, even attacking the eye to blind it before finishing it off.
