Blumhouse Games has revealed the release date for its first indie-horror title, , which pays homage to PlayStation 1-era horror games. The studio is the name behind some of the most impressive horror films and franchises, including, and is the first title to be released by the studio's new games division.
During the September State of Play presentation,s release date was announced for October 22, marking a perfect launch for those looking for a new horror game to dive into before Halloween. Developed by Cozy Game Pals, the atmospheric third-person horror game follows a teenager named Vivian as she and her friend Amy accidentally unravel a murderous mystery when a seance goes wrong.
Vivian finds herself roaming Sunnyside High's haunted halls alone, attempting to avoid the monster summoned during the seance as she searches high and low for her friend Amy.
The game's graphics lean heavily into the same aesthetics that made 90s horror games both creepy and effective in their scare tactics. In between the various puzzles and exploration necessary to help Vivian figure out what happened to her friend, players will experience a steadily tense atmosphere that promises to be free of jump scares. Stealth will be a key gameplay component, as Vivian must stay out of the gaze of the monster now freely roaming the halls of the school.
