The has officially been revealed, with Capcom confirming when the game will launch at Sony’s State of Play event.
Monster Hunter Wilds will release on February 28, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A new trailer for the game not only revealed the release date, but also introduced Arkveld, the flagship monster at the heart of the story. The creature hails from an ancient species and sports “chain-like wings,” and will be the main creature fans look to hunt down.
The trailer also showed off some of the game’s dynamic weather, as well as what the changing of various locations will look like depending on certain factors.

Monster Hunter Wilds players take the role of a professional monster hunter accompanying an expedition into the Forbidden Lands. The trailer focused on a region called the Windward Plains, a vast expanse of desert and grasslands. Monsters include the small, wivern-like Dalthydon, horn-backed Ceratonoths, massive, lion-like Doshaguma, and armored, frog-like Chatacabra.
