Intel's P-Core-only "Raptor Lake" CPUs for the LGA 1700 socket are being sold online with the Core i9-14901KE listed at $420 US for 8 cores.
Intel recently introduced its P-core-only Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs which include processors like Core i9 14901E, Core i9 14401E, Core i7 14701E, and their 'K' models for overclockers. While these are meant for the embedded systems, it looks like several chips are being sold at 3rd part retailers such as Goofish in China.
The Intel Core i9-14901KE appeared on the Goofish along with its CPU-z screenshot which confirms the specifications and that this is indeed a P-Core-only variant. Now before we discuss the specs from the software window, it should be kept in mind that the 14901KE isn't meant for the mainstream DIY market like the regular Raptor Lake Refresh chips. However, as the CPUs can be installed and removed from the LGA 1700 sockets, they are being pushed through black markets and individual sellers.
Nonetheless, what we know about the Intel Core i9-14901KE and other 'E' models is that they don't bring any E-cores. The Core i9 14901KE also shares the same core configuration but Intel currently doesn't have its Ark page prepared on their website. The page did exist a while back but was soon removed. On the other hand, information about the Core i9 14901E still exists on the Intel website along with other 'E' Raptor Lake Refresh chips.
The Intel Core i9-14901KE will have the same configuration as its non-K counterpart as evident from the CPU-Z window, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads. All these cores are Performance cores and the 14901KE will also be overclockable, unlike the i9 14901E. What looks unusual is how CPU-Z listed its specifications. In no way does the i9 14901KE offer just 2.6 GHz
