AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the top gaming chip in the market at the moment, and the red team is fully confident in displaying it as such in its latest competitive guide.
Well, it's no surprise anymore that the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU is the best chip to grab if you're a gamer. In our review and those from countless independent tech outlets, the chip showcased great gaming performance gains at amazing efficiency with upgraded multi-threaded performance and also packs full overclocking support.
The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is currently listed in the competitive guide as the competition against Intel's top gaming chips, which are the Core i9-14900KS and the Core i9-14900K, considering that the Core Ultra 9 285K comes nowhere close to its predecessors. The 9800X3D is around 8 percent faster on average at 1080p versus the 7800X3D, which was already the fastest chip on the market.
The main issue with the 9800X3D currently is its availability, which is due to a heightened demand and several retailers have either removed the chip entirely from their listings or shifted towards pre-orders for the chip only. The CPU is listed at $479 US but due to unavailability, it has become the victim of scalping with prices on eBay hovering over $700 US.
Shifting over to the non-X3D parts, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X is listed as the competition against the Core i9-14900K and the Core i9-13900KS. Although the 9950X isn't as performant in gaming as the 9800X3D, it is still a beast of a multi-threading part.
The same goes for the Ryzen 9 9900X, which is listed against the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-13900K. The Ryzen 7 9700X is listed as the competition of i7 14700K and i7-13700K.
