Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has officially signed on to join the star-studded cast for Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming paranoid thriller movie. Further details about his character are still being kept under wraps. At the moment, it currently has no target release date yet.
This marks Redmayne’s first major movie project since he was last seen in Netflix’s The Good Nurse with Jessica Chastain. He most recently starred in Peacock’s The Day of the Jackal series, which has already been renewed for a second season. For his leading performance as an assassin in the said show, he just received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.
Panic Carefully will be led by Oscar winner Julia Roberts and WandaVision alum Elizabeth Olsen. The show reunites Roberts with Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail after previously working together in Netflix’s apocalyptic drama movie Leave the World Behind. Warner Bros. won the rights to the project after an intense bidding war.
The film will be written and directed by Esmail. The project will reportedly center around the hunt for a cyber-terrorist. It is also being described as a paranoid thriller with tonal influences from 1991’s Silence of the Lambs. The film is produced by Esmail, Chad Hamilton, Scott Stuber, Roberts, Marisa Yeres Gill, and Lisa Gillan, with Kevin McCormick and Chrystal Li tap to oversee the movie on behalf of the studio.
Production on Panic Carefully is expected to begin in January 2025 in England.
