Horror studio Blumhouse has announced the debut video game project from its label will be shown at Summer Games Fest 2024 this week.
Blumhouse Games was announcedlast year and since then what it’s up to has been a bit of a mystery. However, having already been noted as a partner for Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest 2024, the official account confirmed its attendance and intentions.
”Tune in to #SummerGameFest this Friday to find out what’s to come from the new home of horror games.” wrote the official social media account.
Last year, Blumhouse Games announced plans to partner with independent developers of horror games for console, PC, and mobile devices. The company will also target games made below $10 million to “enable innovation and [push] creative boundaries.”
That model is not too dissimilar to the one Blumhouse uses for its films. Producing the likes of Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister, Truth or Dare, and this year’s Imaginary.
The label is being led by several video game industry veterans. President Zach Wood has been in the industry for decades. He’s worked on titles like Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan, Bound, and 2012’s Twisted Metal at Sony and Prey: Mooncrash and Redfall at Bethesda. Former Global Head of Business Operations, Planning & Strategy Don Sechler was also at PlayStation and is CFO at Blumhouse Games.
Summer Games Fest 2024 kicks off this Friday, June 7, 2p PT / 5p ET / 10p BST / 11p CEST.
