Announced with a trailer on YouTube, confirmed that Nuketown is being added to the game's roster of multiplayer maps on November 1 which, at the time of writing, is just a day away.
The actual map itself looks largely identical to how it first appeared in the original but has the benefit of a fresh coat of paint to make its distinctive look stand out even more. With the added omnidirectional movement mechanic, fans are undoubtedly excited to see just how chaotic Nuketown can be.
Despite Nuketown's notoriety in the community,there is a decent contingent of players who have never experienced its high-octane gunplay. Considering that the first is over a decade old, there are likely many younger fans who were never able to experience the map's original iteration because they were too young. Bringing it back for is great news for those who have always enjoyed the faux street but also serves as an opportunity for those who may have missed it.
What Nuketown lacks in size it more than makes up for with character and speed. A multiplayer map designed to resemble a fake city used to test nuclear weapons is a novel idea, especially when it's so small; The limited scale forces players into fights quickly, resulting in some of the speediest matches in the entire franchise.
