In celebrating 30 years since the beginning of its iconic fantasy RPG franchise The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda has shared a small tidbit for fans eagerly awaiting The Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda Game Studios recently released its space-faring sci-fi RPG, Starfield, just last year. Starfield's Shattered Space DLC is also being worked on and is expected to release sometime this year.
This June will mark a whopping six years since the first CGI announcement trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6 on Bethesda's E3 2018 stage. The very brief trailer consisted of a single sweeping shot across a vast fantasy landscape with The Elder Scrolls 6's logo appearing at the end. Since there hasn't been any official word from Bethesda on it since, many fans of the franchise feel like the sixth major Elder Scrolls installment was revealed far too early. Now that Starfield is out the door, Bethesda Game Studios has shifted its main focus towards production of The Elder Scrolls 6 and fans are finally getting ready to learn more in the coming years.
Celebrating 30 years of The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda Game Studios put out a Twitter post celebrating its beloved fantasy franchise. The post took fans on a look back at each mainline title, highlighting the ways fans are able to replay them all these years later. Additionally, Bethesda brought up The Elder Scrolls Online and its mobile spin-off The Elder Scrolls: Castles, expressing excitement about what awaits for both titles. Perhaps most notably, the post concluded with mention of The Elder Scrolls 6, noting that the development team is playing «early builds» of the game. As it was a small update embedded in a post focusing on the franchise's 30th anniversary, nothing further was divulged about the hotly anticipated sixth Elder Scrolls title.
