In a recent interview at the JW3 Speaker Series, Benedict Cumberbatch confirmed that he is scheduled to film “some Marvel capers” next year, teasing his return after over a year since the theatrical release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
It’s currently unclear what Marvel Studios project the actor will be a part of, but fans speculate that it might be for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is slated for a 2026 release. However, there’s also a chance that it might be a project that will address Multiverse of Madness’ mid-credits scenes involving Charlize Theron’s Clea.
The Oscar nominee first made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Scott Derrickson’s 2016 film Doctor Strange, which saw Dr. Stephen Strange become the sorcerer supreme. So far, he has appeared in six Marvel Studios movies, including Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
