Electronic Arts will introduce changes to Battlefield Currency prices starting on June 1.
First made available in 2019, the virtual currency can be used to purchase cosmetic items for weapons, vehicles, and Battle Pass elements in DICE’s shooter series.
“This is part of a decision here at Electronic Arts to adjust pricing for live service purchases after evaluating their exposure to current global economic fluctuations,” EA said.
“Adjustments are being made across countries where BFC is available to purchase globally. Many are seeing no change, some are seeing increases, while in other countries there will be price reductions, which reflects our approach to balancing pricing, regardless of currency.”
EA didn’t provide a list of updated prices, instead asking players to refer to their local stores or EA’s help website for more information on the upcoming changes.
For the latest series entry, Battlefield 2042, Battlefield Currency prices on consoles currently start at $4.49 / £3.59 for 500 BFC and go as high as $89.99 / £71.99 for 13,000 BFC.
Bungie recently revealed plans to raise Destiny 2 season pass prices starting with Season of the Deep, which launches today.
Earlier today, former Battlefield creative director Lars Gustavsson announced the formation of a new development studio called TTK Games.
Co-founded by four EA DICE veterans, the Stockholm, Sweden-based studio said it has “secured significant funding coupled with creative freedom” and is currently working on a next-gen online shooter.
