DICE has revealed the patch notes for Battlefield 2042 Update 6.4.0, which is slated to release next week. This will mark the last update before the highly anticipated Season 7 commences in Battlefield 2042.
While the game had received a largely vitriolic reception at launch, DICE's persistence turned things around for Battlefield 2042. The developers have actively released a series of updates to the game, which not only ironed out the issues fans had reservations about but also added tons of new features. There is still some ambiguity around when the next Battlefield game will be announced, but the developer's robust content plan forBattlefield 2042 suggests that it is still a while away.
In a new blog post, DICE has outlined what fans can expect from the upcoming 6.4.0 update which will be arriving on Wednesday, February 28th. Alongside the plethora of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, some of the major highlights of the update include the commencement of the Arkangel Directive, changes to Persistent Servers, and HUD improvements.
The Arkangel Directive event is making a comeback to the game, after being widely acclaimed by the community when it was released last year. Players will be able to take part in a limited-time game mode Control, which will feature 24v24 battles across Reclaimed, Orbital, Valparaiso, and Arica Harbor. Update 6.4.0 adds two more maps to Battlefield 2042's Control LTM, Breakaway and Discarded. While fans have been requesting the Control mode to be added as a permanent mode to the game, the Arkangel Directive will only be available until March 5.
To gear up for the launch of Season 7, DICE is allowing all Custom Experiences created within the Battlefield Portal to remain active for two days during an inactive season. For existing Battle Pass owners, the seven days of Server Persistence during an active season is still applicable. This aspect of the update hasn't gone down well in the community, as fans have been requesting Persistent
