The next event for Battlefield 2042, The Arkangel Directive, will be landing next week on 11th July, adding a limited time Control game mode to the multiplayer shooter.
Control will only be available for two weeks in Battlefield 2042, from 11th July at 12PM UTC (1PM UK time), through to 25th July at 12PM UTC.
Control is a 24v24 game mode that will be played across Reclaimed, Orbital and Valparaiso maps, with shifting objective points as the two sides fight. The goal is to capture unsynced satellites and hold them until data has been retrieved, with multiple control points available at once. When each round has been completed, another set of satellites will appear at different locations (though on a fixed pattern) for you to fight over, though as the match progresses, fewer objectives will be spawned, building up to one final clash over a single point.
As points are earned, Arkangel will reward players with Ascension points that can be spent on calling in vehicle hot drops to try and turn the battle in your favour.
Through the event, players will be able to earn Ribbons that unlock cosmetic rewards, as well as premium cosmetic bundles to buy. These include:
Paradigm Shift – Rare Dackground Final Sleep – Epic Charm Force Fusion – Epic Weapon Skin
Expendable – Rare Background Interneural – Epic Headgear Binary Charge – Epic Weapon Skin
“Ascendant Weapon” bundle (1400 BFC) “Ascendant Warrior” bundle (1750 BFC) “Arkangel Bundle” bundle, which includes all Arkangel Directive Store items (2400 BFC)
