The newest update, known as Patch 6, is now live. Announced in a post on the official website, Larian Studios reveals that romance is at the forefront of the improvements, which makes romancing companions a lot more intimate. As was detailed in the patch notes, one of the main highlights is the addition of new kissing animations made exclusively for each romantic partner. The smooches in Patch 6 vary in intensity and are said to reflect the personality of the companion players are romancing in .
In addition to the exclusive set of romantic animations for each companion, Larian Studios also revealed that it has made improvements to the kissing mechanic from a broader perspective, particularly for couples with taller and shorter body types. This is not the only way the developer is making relationships more intimate, however. According to the patch notes, the game now has improved endgame cinematics that are intended to reflect the intimacy of the player’s character and their partners. This includes having the couple discuss their future after beating the Netherbrain in .

Smaller fixes are also improving the way romance is presented in the game. Players who sit on the stool in Shadowheart’s camp corner will trigger a voice line, which will vary based on the type of relationship they have with her. The half-elf will also speak more frequently during Act 2
