A new set of images has confirmed 11 more characters for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's roster, which includes fighters from Dragon Ball Z and Super. The upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is a return to the classic Budokai Tenkaichi series, where players can engage in 3D arena battles with some of their favorite characters. One of the most important aspects of the series is its roster, featuring both popular and obscure picks. For example, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 had 161 playable fighters that came from the original series, Z, GT, and even non-canon material like the movies. Sparking Zero has the potential to have one of the largest rosters in a Dragon Ball fighting game.
A number of characters have already been revealed for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's roster, such as the various Goku and Vegeta forms that span across the entirety of the Z and Super anime. Several other characters, like Piccolo, Trunks, and even Mr. Satan were revealed to be a part of the game's roster when the game was revealed at The Game Awards 2023. A new set of scans has revealed 11 new playable characters, with them being a mix of obscure faces and fan favorites.
These characters were revealed in a recent V-Jump magazine, with scans of the pages being shared on Twitter. The scans briefly outline each fighter that was added, with them being categorized into a speed or power fighter. Some of the iconic characters from Dragon Ball Z's Saiyan Invasion and Planet Namek arcs, like Nappa, Burter, and Jeice, are confirmed to be playable. The scans also confirm characters who appeared during Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power arc, such as Toppo, Kale, Hit, and even Kakunsa, as a part of the roster.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero splits these characters into different archetypes, with these particular characters being split into a speed or power category.
