Babylon's Fall has a system similar to previous games in the same vein, that being a scoring system after every arena. Depending on how the player performs in each of these arenas, they will be assigned a score at the end with a run down of how they did. Players have many tools at their disposal when it comes to challenging their foes, and the dodging ability is going to be one of the most important aspects in keeping in the fight. Players may note that one of these items is called a «Perfect Dodge,» and players may be curious how to perform such a feat.
PlatinumGames, the company behind Babylon's Fall, has created many previous titles as well that have a similar mechanic, most notably perhaps in NieR: Automata. In that game, and in this one as well, the player will need to perfectly time their enemies attack in order to perform the «Perfect Dodge.»
All the factions are capable of this maneuver. In order to perform a «Perfect Dodge,» the player will need to press the «evade» button (R1 by default on PS4 and PS5, RB for a general gamepad like an Xbox controller) just as the opponent's weapon is striking the player. The game will provide a glowing indicator on the enemy's weapon to show that they are about to attack. The player can usually dodge these types of attacks easily beforehand, as they tend to be wound-up strong attacks. However, if the player wants to get that «Perfect Dodge,» they will need to time it later than that.
