Gearbox Software CEO and President Randy Pitchford took to social media to confirm that the upcoming will fully support cross-play on all platforms when it launches on March 25, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This means players from every system can play co-op together.
Pitchford’s latest tweets thanked his partners at 2K Games and first-party companies, including Sony, for working together to make sure fans on any platform can play. He also asked that players “take it easy” on Gearbox if there are issues since “none of the platforms were designed for this.” Gearbox has done “impossible work” to make full cross-platform play happen, according to him, but it is still “new territory” for the team.

In a follow-up reply to a fan asking about potential cross-play support on older games like, Pitchford noted that has always supported cross-play, but that he now sees the addition of PlayStation being added to the list of platforms as “inevitable.”
BL3 has supported crossplay for sometime. The future addition of PlayStation to crossplay for BL3 is now what I would consider to be inevitable. More info to come as soon as we have it…
