An Avatar: The Last Airbender competitive fighting game is currently in the works, making its early access debut next year.
The yet-to-be-named game based on the popular TV show was announced by Maximum Games, a video game publisher based in California, which has now merged with its publishing arm Modus, in a new video highlighting what the company has in store for 2024. Unfortunately, not much was said about the game, other than the fact that it is scheduled for an early access release in 2025.
While the name of the Avatar: The Last Airbender competitive fighting game publisher may not be well known, Maximum Games and Modus have shown interest in fighting games before, as the company is working on an experimental fighting game called Diesel Legacy and acquired some time ago Mane 6, the developer of Them's Fightin' Herds, bringing their game to a wider audience with a console release. The company also released God of Rock last year, a game that had an interesting premise that sadly wasn't executed too well. As such, the newly announced Avatar: The Last Airbender fighting game may end up being a competent title, although it is hard to predict how popular it could become, as within a niche genre like fighting games, indie titles tend to struggle to find an audience.
