For starters, if you want to get seriously into hunting you’re going to want to spend some points advancing the Hunter skill tree. This tree includes skills that allow you to move silently, do more damage to weak points, identify high-quality prey, and more.
While it may be tempting to just blow creatures away with an automatic rifle or shotgun, this will degrade the quality of the materials you get from your kill. In some cases they’ll be rendered completely unusable. You’ll need to use Na’vi weapons (specifically the heavy bow and spear thrower) for best results.
Not sure where you find a specific type of prey? No worries, just pop into your menu and check out the Hunter’s Guide. From here, you can target a specific quarry then use your Na’vi Senses to get a scent trail leading you right to them.
