Atomic Heart Composer Mick Gordon Donates Fee to Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal | Push Square
pushsquare.comVeteran composer Mick Gordon has revealed that he has donated his fee for the upcoming action RPG Atomic Heart to Red Cross Australia's Ukraine Crisis Appeal, in order to «stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.»
Gordon shared a statement on Twitter explaining his decision:
Gordon is an Australian composer with numerous credits to his name, producing albums for musicians, scoring soundtracks for TV, and of course, his many works in the realm of video games. His musical range is vast, and he has worked on a wide array of games, from the rebooted Wolfenstein series, Borderlands 3, Prey, LawBreakers, DOOM, and infamously on DOOM Eternal.
In 2020, Gordon parted ways with developer id Software after a nasty public spat regarding DOOM Eternal's soundtrack. The studio released an open letter on Reddit, essentially blaming Gordon for the debacle, a move which itself backfired and caused backlash within the community. In 2022, Gordon released an in-depth response on Medium, refuting the claims made against him.
