The return of the Windblume Festival in 3.5 has revealed important lore regarding Teyvat as a whole. Most of the event is spent helping Collei and Sucrose decipher a strange prophecy found in a copy of promising great rewards. At the end of the storyline, the Traveler accompanies Collei, Sucrose, Albedo, Klee, Mona, and Timaeus to a floating rock far above Mondstadt featuring a tea party. This tea party set is the gathering place of the Hexenzirkel.
The mysterious character Alice explains the Hexenzirkel to the group, celebrating their success. According to her, the Hexenzirkel was a gathering of witches who were some of the most powerful in Teyvat. Many of its members were immortal or otherwise able to live long lives, such as Alice herself. This mysterious coven includes major players in the fate and history of .

Each witch in 's Hexenzirkel takes on a codename consisting of a single letter usually matching with their name. Alice, for example, is known as A. She is an elder of the Hexenzirkel, the author of the, and one of the most skilled witches in Teyvat. Within the prophecy that leads the Traveler to the Hexenzirkel's table, she is known as "" She narrates the official teaser for the Hexenzirkel, played during the Windblume Festival special event.
Mona, 's playable astrologist, has often mentioned the «old hag» who taught her. The hag's name has been revealed as Barbeloth, codename B.
