ASUS has officially launched the ROG Ally X handheld for $799.99 with upgraded specifications and improved features.
ASUS today launched its newest gaming handheld ROG Ally X for $799.9. ASUS ROG Ally X is the successor to the ROG Ally, which was launched in June last year. The ROG Ally X brings several upgrades over its predecessor that provide improved performance & functionality for handheld enthusiasts. The handheld received many major and minor improvements along with a new customizable game library through Armoury Crate SE 1.5.
The ASUS ROG Ally X handheld brings better ergonomics for easier grip and superior cooling. It measures almost the same as its predecessor except that now its height is increased by 4.5mm to provide a superior grip for longer gaming sessions. The new cooling solution incorporates 23% smaller fans but can offer more airflow. Thanks to the added third exhaust vent at the upper edge, the ROG Ally X allows 24% more airflow for better thermals.
The handheld brings a brand-new black chassis with a more rounded shape for a natural grip. Controls are slightly tweaked for better ergonomics, including the rearrangement of the buttons and sticks, and a slant to the triggers for easier button presses. Macro buttons are now smaller and the joysticks now offer stiffer springs and a bigger 5 million cycle lifespan. There is also an additional USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 4 compliance, now providing support for third-party docks and external GPUs.
The configuration gets a big upgrade in the RAM and storage department, where the RAM is now increased to 24GB LPDDR5 from 16 GB in the ROG Ally. It's not just the RAM size that got an upgrade, but the clock speed has also increased from 6400MHz to 7500MHz, affecting
