It looks like Ubisoft’s pre-launch preparations for Assassin’s Creed Shadows have hit a snag. As per a report published by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, Ubisoft has cancelled hands-on press previews it had planned for the upcoming open world action RPG. The report claims press outlets and media were scheduled to go hands-on with the game next week, but that’s no longer planned. Why that is the case hasn’t been confirmed.
Earlier today, Ubisoft announced a last-minute cancellation of its live plans for Tokyo Game Show, which is scheduled for later in the week. The company cited “various circumstances” for the cancellation of its stream, which presumably would have showcased new gameplay footage for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but did not elaborate.
Whether this all is pointing to trouble for the game, including maybe a possible delay, remains to be seen, but the signs certainly aren’t encouraging. Hopefully, we will have more clarity from Ubisoft in the near future.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is currently set to launch on November 15 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
