Last year, it was reported that Ubisoft had begun work on an Assassin's Creed: Black Flag remake codenamed Obsidian. Now, it's claimed that a second remake is also in development.
According to Insider Gaming, these are all of the Assassin's Creed games in the works right now:
It's unclear what game is being remade, but the popular pick among fans is the very first Assassin's Creed. "Fix the issues it had like repetitive missions and bring it up to the standard of the sequels," one fan said.
"I wish they would remake the first one," another said. "There's no way to play it on PlayStation. I know it's not the best, but maybe they could change some things."
Others are hoping for a return to Ezio's story, while some are hinging their bets on Unity. But there's no information about it yet and not even the Black Flag remake has been officially announced, so it'll be a while before we find out.
Insider Gaming also shed light on what we can expect from the Infinity platform Ubisoft plans to launch new Assassin's Creed games from. It will reportedly serve as a hub where you can jump in and out of games within seconds, with a modern-day story used to inject the live-service elements. One such feature being "The Exchange", which is reportedly an item shop where players can buy daily and weekly cosmetics for Assassin's Creed Red.
It's also claimed that there will be "Projects" for both protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. These are described as mini "battle passes" with narrative content that unlocks in-game cosmetics when completed. It's reported that these will be added to Infinity frequently to keep players engaged between major releases which will be launched every two years.
Assassin's Creed Red is reportedly inspired by Splinter Cell and Hitman , focusing on stealth mechanics like hiding bodies, sneaking through grass, and putting out lights.
