Development on the rumored Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake might very well have kicked off late last year.
At least, that could be discerned from LinkedIn profiles from a Lead Artist and Lead Cinematic Designer at Ubisoft which mention work on an "unannounced project" as of September 2023 (via @Jorraptor). Before the work on this "unannounced" project, both employees worked on Assassin's Creed Mirage as well as Skull & Bones. We've included the post on X below:
While the Assassin's Creed franchise isn't directly mentioned, Kotaku reported that Ubisoft was gearing up for a remake of Black Flag back in June of last year. Going by the reference of this new "unannounced project" at Ubisoft Singapore, actual development on the rumored Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake could very well have kicked off shortly after that.
Released in 2013 as a cross-gen title, Assassin's Creed Black Flag is considered one of the best entries in the series. The game was officially announced back in March of 2013.
