FromSoftware’s Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has earned critical acclaim, but its sales are somewhat of a mystery. It topped the weekly sales charts in Japan with over 163,000 units sold, becoming the second-biggest launch in the series, but the total number of units sold worldwide is unknown. However, voice actor Ryo Shimokawa, who played Pater (V.VIII), seems to know.
In a recent YouTube stream with actor Yasuyuki Kase, who voiced Rusty (V.IV) in the same game, Shimokawa revealed that the mech combat title sold “around” 2.8 million copies. Neither FromSoftware nor publisher Bandai Namco have corroborated the same, but if true, it’s a milestone worth celebrating, especially considering how long it’s taken for a sequel to release.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. You can check out our official review and why you should play it here.
